I have been a member of the Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers now for many years and have found it to be an invaluable society for 20th century gaming.

I have helped over the last few years put on several games at the gauntlet weekend to promote the society as can be seen on the Societies Events Blog.

The Society recently advertised for a volunteer to help update and run their website, so I naturally offered my services as I have been running websites since 1997 and have taught myself HTML and a little PHP.

Rich Baber has asked me to see what I can do to take the Society's site forward. The first task was to update all the web pages to make sure the information is up to date, which I have just completed.

The next step is for a redesign of the site, I have drawn a draft up for the Journal Team and pending their approval I intend to upload all current information to the new format.

For future I would like to add new content and make sure it is kept up to date on a regular basis.

Hopefully it shouldn't impact too much on the other 2 websites I run...roll on retirement in 2.5 years I need the time to devote to all my hobbies.

The Great Game

I am currently painting 10mm forces for the Zulu Wars (in between tarting up my Vietnam figures for the SOTCW game). I was after rules for the figures and happened across The Great Game.

These rules looked ideal for me as they are for element based forces. There are 3 books:

Book 1: Rules
Book 2: Army Lists
Book 3: Scenarios

However, the rules as written have some ambiguities in and after some clarifications from the Yahoo Group I have rewritten them to clear up these problems and hopefully get them more exposure to players. Besides the clarifications I have PDF'd Book 3 as for those like me who use LibreOffice or OpenOffice this book loses formatting. For completeness and for those who dislike yahoo I have uploaded all the books.

Book 1: Rules
Book 2: Army Lists
Book 3: Scenarios
