More MDF Buildings

Finally got around to building the last 2 buildings from Sarissa.

First building is a Dutch barn which is handy for Wild West games or any Zombie game...a barn full of Zombies or a hideout for the heroes.

Yes can fits lots of zombies in there.

"Hey you in the Jail" for the second building

But its not until you take the roof off

Yes the cell is part of the kit.

Happy 15th Birthday

I have just realised that my Free Wargames Rules website is 15 years old this year. Who would have thought in 1997 when i set up the first website to host free rules for our old Wargames Club that I would still be doing it a decade and a half later.

A big thank you to all the contributors, visitors and family who have followed me on this journey.

MDF Buildings

At Derby Wargames show last weekend I bought some of the 28mm 4Ground pre-painted Anglo-Danish hamlet.

I bought 2 small dwellings and 1 large building. They are flat packed and you have to make them yourself.

The instructions that come with them are very clear and have colour photos to explain how to put them together. All the parts are numbered to avoid confusion.

They also have interiors with removal roofs for skirmish gaming. With a firebox, door and wooden slats in the windows. The above building even has a small hole in the wall. I used wood glue to fix them together and am very pleased with the results.

The thatched roofs use teddy bear hair which you then apply a 50:50 mix of PVA and water which you apply with an old toothbrush (Mrs Freewargamesrules would not be happy if I used her current one). This really gives the roof a thatched look.

The final purchase for the proposed SAGA game was a medieval Ox Cart from Sarissa. My mate Si and I both wanted several buildings so we pooled our resources and had discount on the purchases.

Again this was a doddle to put together and the nice guys said if I broke any parts when making the items to request a replacement and they would send it free of charge as they don't want negative views on their products. What a quality service.
